Zac Gallen’s next start has been repeatedly delayed—from initially being scheduled for Wednesday, then moved to Sunday, and now possibly set for Tuesday.
The Diamondbacks’ ace is currently managing a hamstring issue that he sustained during an April 26th start against the Mariners.
With Arizona already dealing with significant injuries, including starters Eduardo Rodriguez and Merrill Kelly on the 60-day injured list, manager Torey Lovullo seems cautious about rushing his top pitcher back to the mound.
This season, Gallen has maintained a 3.38 ERA across six starts, striking out 35 batters in 32 innings. He has been particularly dominant at home, allowing just one earned run over 17 innings.
In 2023, Gallen finished 3rd in Cy Young voting.
Stay tuned for further updates.
